Doug Thompson, PhD - "The Quest for the Golden Trout: Environmental Loss and America's Iconic Fish"
The Quest for the Golden Trout is about looking at our nation's rivers with a more critical eye--and asking more questions about both historic and current practices in fisheries management.
Sara Low - "A Guide's Guide to Fly-Fishing Mistakes"
A licensed fishing guide’s observations on the common mistakes made by anglers, A Guide’s Guide to Fly-Fishing Mistakes provides practical tips on how to improve fly-fishing techniques and break bad habits.
With its founding in 1963, Theodore Gordon Flyfishers, led by Lee Wulff, Ed Zern, Ernest Schweibert and Ted Rogowski, a relatively small group of dedicated members championed the first catch and release regulations on public access rivers in the United States. Since then TGF has continued to promote and fight for increased public access, conducted stream monitoring and habitat improvement projects in concert with other angling and conservation organizations, sponsored worthy youngsters at NYSDEC conservation camps, initiated the very successful Trout In The Classroom program in public schools, and perhaps most importantly and uniquely among angling organizations, from its beginnings to the present, TGF has continued to be involved and does not shy away from litigation when required to protect our cherished fisheries!
